RECOMMENDED ACTION(S):
TITLE
Retroactively approve community outreach expenditure of $2,790 to support the Calwa community cleanup event held on October 18, 2025, per Administrative Policy No. 75.
REPORT
Approval of this item is for the expenditure of $2,790, which supported a community cleanup event in the Calwa area on October 18, 2025, focused on removing illegal roadside waste, improving public health and safety, reducing blight, and enhancing neighborhood conditions for residents. This item was approved by County Counsel as an appropriate expenditure as outlined in Administrative Policy No. 75.
ALTERNATIVE ACTION(S):
Your Board has the option to decline approval of the outreach expenditure, which would require the identification of an alternative funding source.
FISCAL IMPACT:
There is no increase in Net County Cost associated with the recommended action. Sufficient appropriations are included in the Board of Supervisors Org 01100103 FY 2025-26 Adopted Budget.
DISCUSSION:
On August 8, 2017, the Board approved Administrative Policy No. 75 to allow individual Supervisors to expend portions of their individual budgets for community outreach services and programs.
On March 11, 2025, your Board approved a revision to Administrative Policy No. 75 to require Board approval on non-county business donations in excess of $1,500.
On October 18, 2025, the County department of Public Works and Planning - Roads Division staff utilized County equipment to conduct illegal roadside waste removal and related operations under Project R40100, which was a community cleanup event in the Calwa area from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., focused on removing illegal roadside waste, improving public health and safety, reducing blight, and enhancing neighborhood conditions for residents.
