SUBJECT: Data Use Agreement with California Department of Public Health
RECOMMENDED ACTION(S):
TITLE
1. Approve and authorize the Chairman to execute the Substitution of Data Use Agreement with Michigan Public Health Institute, to allow for the substitution of County's current Data Use Agreement with Michigan Public Health Institute for the participation in the National Fatality Review Case Reporting System with California Department of Public Health's Data Use Agreement; and
2. Approve and authorize the Chairman to execute a Data Use Agreement with California Department of Public Health, to participate in the National Fatality Review Case Reporting System, effective upon execution until terminated by either party ($0).
REPORT
There is no Net County Cost associated with the recommended actions. Approval of the first recommended action will approve the substitution of County's current Data Use Agreement (DUA) with Michigan Public Health Institute (MPHI), replacing it with the California Department of Public Health's (CDPH) DUA. Approval of the second recommended action will allow the Department of Public Health (Department) to participate and share specific Fresno County fetal and infant fatality case review data with CDPH as part of the National Fatality Review Case Reporting System (NFRCRS). This item is countywide.
ALTERNATIVE ACTION(S):
There is no viable alternative action. Should your Board not approve the recommended actions, the Department would not be able to share specific Fresno County fetal and infant fatality case review data with CDPH nor be a participant in the NFRCRS.
FISCAL IMPACT:
There is no increase in Net County Cost associated with the recommended actions. There are no costs associated with the recommended agreement.
