SUBJECT: Approval of Community Outreach Expenditure
RECOMMENDED ACTION(S):
1. Approve community outreach expenditure of $5,000 to the Calwa Recreation & Park District per Administrative Policy No. 75. subject to execution of a release of liability agreement.
2. Authorize the County Administrative Officer, or designee, to execute the release of liability agreement.
Approval of this item is for the expenditure of $5,000.00 to help renovate the community swimming pool at Calwa Park. This item was approved by County Counsel as an appropriate expenditure as outlined in Administrative Policy No. 75.
ALTERNATIVE ACTION(S):
There are no alternative actions as this expenditure follows the guidelines of Administrative Policy No. 75 approved by the Board of Supervisors.
FISCAL IMPACT:
There is no increase in net county cost associated with the recommended action. Sufficient appropriations are included in the proposed budget for the 2019-20 fiscal year under the Board of Supervisors Org 0110, Department 01100103.
DISCUSSION:
On August 8, 2017, the Board approved Administrative Policy No. 75 to allow individual Supervisors to expend portions of their individual budgets for community outreach services and programs. This expenditure to sponsor a portion of the renovation of the Calwa Park community pool was sent to the County Counsel for review and approval. County Counsel deemed it an appropriate expenditure under the Administrative Policy No. 75 guidelines.
The pool is within the Calwa Recreation and Park District, Calwa Park and is open to the general public.
