SUBJECT: Budget Resolution

RECOMMENDED ACTION(S):
TITLE
1. Adopt a Budget Resolution increasing FY 2024-25 appropriations for National Opioid Settlement Fund 0041, Subclass 17126, Org 1076, in the amount of $338,784 (4/5 vote); and

2. Adopt a Budget Resolution increasing the FY 2024-25 appropriations and estimated revenues for Department of Behavioral Health Org 5630, in the amount of $338,784 (4/5 vote).
REPORT
There is no increase in Net County Cost associated with the recommended actions. Approval of the recommended actions will adopt a budget resolution to increase appropriations with National Opioid Settlement that fund activities aimed at addressing the opioid epidemic including prevention, treatment, and recovery initiatives in Fresno County, with no changes to the total maximum compensation. This item is countywide.

ALTERNATIVE ACTION(S):

There is no viable alternative action. If the recommended actions are not approved, the Department will not have sufficient appropriations to continue funding opioid abatement strategies through the end of the fiscal year.

FISCAL IMPACT:

There is no increase in Net County Cost associated with the recommended actions. Adoption of the recommended budget resolutions will increase FY 2024-25 appropriations for the National Opioid Settlement Org 1076 in the amount of $338,784 to continue funding opioid abatement strategies throughout the County. The increase will be funded entirely by the current special revenue fund balance. The full balance of this Org was previously not allocated as projections were based on FY 2023-24 trend and it was determined that the full balance was not needed at the time.
