SUBJECT: Budget Resolutions for Purchase of Red Dot Sights
RECOMMENDED ACTION(S):
TITLE
1. Adopt Budget Resolution increasing the FY 2024-25 appropriations and estimated revenues for the Sheriff-Coroner-Public Administrator's Org 31113016 in the amount of $273,000 for the purchase of red dot sights and mounting adapter plates for the Sheriff's Office (4/5 vote); and
2. Adopt Budget Resolution increasing the FY 2024-25 appropriations in the Sheriff's State Asset Forfeiture Fund 0095, Subclass 17659, Org 1460 in the amount of $273,000 (4/5 vote).
REPORT
There is no increase in Net County Cost associated with these actions. Approval of the recommended actions will allow the Sheriff's Office to utilize State Asset Forfeiture funds for the purchase of red dot sights and mounting plates for the Sheriff's Office. The red dot sights and mounting plates are safety products to be used by the deputy sheriffs to frame a target. This item is countywide.
ALTERNATIVE ACTION(S):
If the recommended actions are not approved, the Sheriff's Office will not be able to purchase the red dot sights and mounting plates to support deputy sheriffs.
FISCAL IMPACT:
There is no additional Net County Cost associated with the recommended actions. Approval of the first recommended action will increase the FY 2024-25 appropriations in the Sheriff-Coroner-Public Administrator's Org 3111 in the amount of $273,000 for the purchase of the red dot sights and mounting plates through an Operating Transfer In from the State Asset Forfeiture Org 1460. Approval of the second recommended action will increase the FY 2024-25 appropriations for the State Asset Forfeiture Org 1460 in the amount of $273,000. The total is currently available in the fund balance of the State Asset Forfeiture Fund 0095, Subclass 17659.
