SUBJECT: Agreement with Fire Solution Systems Inc.
RECOMMENDED ACTION(S):
TITLE
Approve and authorize the Chairman to execute an Agreement with Fire Solution Systems Inc. for backflow device inspection, testing, and repair services, effective October 1, 2021, not to exceed five consecutive years which includes a three-year base contract and two optional one-year extensions, total not to exceed $300,000.
REPORT
There is no additional Net County Cost associated with the recommended action, which will allow Fire Solution Systems Inc. to provide backflow device inspection, testing, and repair services for Internal Services Department - Facility Services division (ISD-Facilities), Public Works and Planning - Special Districts division (PWP-Special Districts) and Parks division (PWP-Parks), as well as Library locations throughout the County. The recommended agreement services shall be charged proportionately. This item is countywide.
ALTERNATIVE ACTION(S):
Should your Board not approve the recommended action, the County will be unable to routinely test and maintain backflow devices throughout the County until a new agreement is executed.
FISCAL IMPACT:
There is no increase in Net County Cost associated with the recommended action. The maximum compensation for the term of the recommended agreement is $300,000, and includes the ability to add backflow devices at a maximum cost per hour of $130. The recommended agreement will be funded by each department wherein backflow devices are located. Sufficient appropriations and estimated revenues are included in the ISD - Facilities Org 8935, PWP-Special Districts Org 9140, PWP-Parks Org 7910 and Library Org 7511 FY 2021-22 Adopted Budget.
