RECOMMENDED ACTION(S):
TITLE
Adopt Budget Resolution increasing FY 2018-19 appropriations for Fresno County Waterworks District 38 Org 9358 in the amount of $123,000 from General Reserves Fund 0890 to repair the potable water tank (4/5 vote).
REPORT
Approval of the recommended action will allow for the potable water tank serving Waterworks District 38 (WWD 38) to be sandblast and lined, to extend the life of the water tank, and to fund the cost of the rental of temporary potable water tanks during the repair. This item pertains to a location in District 5.

ALTERNATIVE ACTION(S):

There is no viable alternative action.

FISCAL IMPACT:

There is no Net County Cost associated with the recommended action. All costs associated with the repair are paid for by the benefitted properties within WWD 38 from property assessments, water and sewer service fees, and interest revenue. The proposed budget resolution will increase appropriations using WWD 38 Fund 0890 general reserves by $123,000 in WWD 38 Org 9358 in the FY 2018-19 Adopted Budget to repair the potable water tank and rent temporary water tanks.

DISCUSSION:

WWD 38 was formed on March 9, 1965, to provide community water and wastewater services for the Sky Harbour subdivision, also known as Millerton Lake Park Estates (Tract 1718). The subdivision consists of 230 parcels and is located approximately six miles north of Millerton Road off Sky Harbour Road. Of the 230 parcels, 61 are developed and receive water and sewer services through WWD 38.

During a video inspection of WWD 38's potable water tank, there were numerous rust boils found on the interior of the tank that require repair this fiscal year.
