SUBJECT: Agreement for Installation and Maintenance of Fiberoptic Communication Cables and Connections

RECOMMENDED ACTION(S):
TITLE
Approve and authorize the Chairman to execute an Agreement with Central Star Behavioral Health, Inc. for fiber installation and connection to the County's fiber system, effective upon execution, not to exceed five consecutive years, which includes a three-year base contract and two optional one-year extensions ($0)
REPORT
There is no increase in Net County Cost associated with the recommended action. Approval of the recommended action will allow for the installation of fiberoptic communication cables and connections to the County's Crisis Residential Unit facility at no cost to the County. This item is countywide.

ALTERNATIVE ACTION(S):

Should your Board not approve the recommended action, the County will not have fiber connectivity to the Crisis Residential Unit facility, impeding Central Star Behavioral Health, Inc. (Central Star) from being able to provide services to provide telepsychiatric services and residential treatment services for clients at this facility.

FISCAL IMPACT:

There is no Net County Cost associated with the recommended action. The recommended Agreement allows for the installation of fiberoptic communication cables and connections to the Department of Behavioral Health's Crisis Residential Unit (CRU) building without payment of any monetary compensation by either the County or Central Star to one another. The County will not incur any additional costs, as the main purpose of this agreement is to outline each party's responsibilities in maintaining their respective fiberoptic cables and connections.
