SUBJECT: Retroactive Revenue Agreements with the Cities of Fowler, Kerman, Kingsburg, Orange Cove, and Sanger for Dispatching Services
RECOMMENDED ACTION(S):
TITLE
Approve and authorize the Chairman to execute retroactive Agreements with the Cities of Fowler, Kerman, Kingsburg, Orange Cove, and Sanger for Communication Dispatching Services effective July 1, 2018 through June 30, 2019 ($1,031,666).
REPORT
Approval of the recommended action will allow the Sheriff's Office to continue providing communication dispatching services for the Cities of Fowler, Kerman, Kingsburg, Orange Cove, and Sanger. This item pertains to locations in Districts 1 and 4.
ALTERNATIVE ACTION(S):
There is no viable alternative action. Approval of the recommended action is necessary for the Sheriff's Office to continue to provide dispatching services to the identified Cities and charge for those services at the approved Master Schedule of Fees (MSF) rate.
RETROACTIVE AGREEMENT:
The agreements are retroactive due to MSF rates being approved and adopted by your Board on October 9, 2018 and the length of time required for negotiation and approval of the agreements by the Cities. The Cities approved the agreements as follows: Fowler on December 13, 2018; Kerman on December 31, 2018; Kingsburg on December 14, 2018; Orange Cove on December 19, 2018; and Sanger on December 31, 2018.
FISCAL IMPACT:
There is no increase in Net County Cost associated with these agreements. The recommended agreements will provide $1,031,666 in revenue from the five cities within Fresno County for communication dispatching services at $14.75 per capita from July 1, 2018 through November 30, 2018 (based on the FY 2017-18 rates approved by your Board on October 17, 2017) and the rate of $14.79 per capita from December 1, 2018 through June 30, 2019, (based on the new MSF rates approved and adopted ...
