SUBJECT: Purchase of Homeland Security Equipment and Second Amendment to Agreement with Hitachi Vantara Corporation for the Installation of the Video Infrastructure Protection Program
RECOMMENDED ACTION(S):
TITLE
1. Approve and authorize the Chairman to execute Second Amendment to Agreement 17-049, DPA Agreement No. FCSO32416 with Hitachi Vantara Corporation effective February 26, 2019 with no change in the term to March 31, 2021 and increasing the maximum by $700,000 to $1,200,000;
2. Adopt Budget Resolution increasing FY 2018-19 appropriations and estimated revenues for Sheriff-Coroner-Public Administrator Org 3111 in the amount of $342,376 (4/5 vote).
REPORT
There is no increase in Net County Cost associated with the recommended actions. The Sheriff's Office was awarded additional grant funds of $402,816 from the State Homeland Security Protection (SHSP) program in order to provide additional visual/video security to specified locations throughout Fresno County. The first recommended action will approve an increase to the agreement with Hitachi Vantara Corporation to allow for the installation of additional equipment and to provide maintenance and support of the new and existing equipment. The second recommended action increases appropriations and estimated revenues in the amount of $342,376 for the purchase of additional equipment and services using SHSP funding. This item is countywide.
ALTERNATIVE ACTION(S):
Non-approval of the recommended actions will result in the loss of the grant funds authorized for this project and impact the ability to expand security to critical locations.
FISCAL IMPACT:
