RECOMMENDED ACTION(S):

TITLE

Approve amendments to Conflict of Interest Codes for Farmers Water District, McMullin Groundwater Sustainability Agency and Washington Colony Cemetery District

REPORT

ALTERNATIVE ACTION(S):

 

If the recommended action is not approved, these agencies will not be able to comply with the Fresno County Biennial Notice requesting local agencies to review or adopt a Conflict of Interest Code (COI Code).

 

FISCAL IMPACT:

 

There is no increase in net County cost associated with this action.

 

DISCUSSION:

 

Following the biennial review of their conflict of interest codes as required by Government Code section 87306.5, the Farmers Water District, McMullin Groundwater Sustainability Agency and Washington Colony Cemetery District amended their conflict of interest codes to update the code’s language, designated positions and filing categories.

 

Amendments to local agency conflict of interest codes are authorized by section 87306 of the Government Code whenever changes are required by changed circumstances, by creation or deletion of designated positions, or by changes in the duty of such positions.  The proposed codes as amended and corrected is lawful under the Political Reform Act of 1974.  Pursuant to sections 82011 and 87303 of the Government Code, the Board of Supervisors is the code reviewing body and may approve the code as submitted, revise the proposed code and approve it as revised, or return the proposed code to the agency for revision and resubmission.
