RECOMMENDED ACTION(S):
TITLE
Approve and authorize the Chairman to execute a revenue Agreement with California Department of Public Health Office of AIDS for the HIV Prevention State Grant to supplement and enhance HIV prevention activities, effective upon execution through June 30, 2019, total not to exceed $121,252.
REPORT
Approval of the recommended action will provide the California Department of Public Health Office of AIDS (CDPH-OA) HIV Prevention State Grant augmentation allocation to the Department of Public Health to supplement and enhance existing HIV (human immunodeficiency virus) prevention program activities and services in the local health jurisdiction, with no Net County Cost. The recommended agreement is for one-time funding that will offset the related salary and benefits, training, and media campaign costs. This item is countywide.

ALTERNATIVE ACTION(S):

Should your Board not approve the recommended action, the Department would not receive the augmentation allocation to enhance its HIV prevention program activities and services in FY 2018-19.

FISCAL IMPACT:

There is no increase in Net County Cost associated with the recommended action. The allocation ($121,252) will offset salary and benefit costs, provide staff training, and fund a media campaign to enhance HIV prevention program activities. Sufficient appropriations and estimated revenues are included in the Department's Org 5620 FY 2018-19 Adopted Budget. The award includes full reimbursement for direct costs and up to 25% or $18,500 of personnel costs as compared with the Department's full indirect rate of 26.5%. The difference 1.5% or $1,110 will be covered with Health Realignment.
