SUBJECT: Resolution to accept a monetary donation from Robin Lopez
RECOMMENDED ACTION(S):
TITLE
1. Adopt Resolution accepting and expressing gratitude for a monetary donation of $10,000 to support the Fresno County Public Library's Summer Challenge program from current Chicago Bulls player Robin Lopez; and
2. Adopt Budget Resolution increasing the FY 2018-19 appropriations and estimated revenues for the County Library Book Fund Org 7521 in the amount of $10,000 (4/5 vote).
REPORT
There is no Net County Cost associated with the recommended actions. The first recommended action is required to satisfy the reporting and approval requirements under Board of Supervisors Administrative Policy Number 30, for donations greater than $7,500 in value. Approval of the recommended actions will allow the Fresno County Public Library to accept the donation of $10,000 to support the Library's Summer Challenge program from current National Basketball Association (NBA) player Robin Lopez. The donation will support the Library's 2019 Summer Challenge and Lunch at the Library programs. The impact of the donation will be countywide.
ALTERNATIVE ACTION(S):
Your Board may choose to not accept the donation, which will result in not accepting $10,000 to support this year's Summer Challenge and Lunch at the Library programs.
FISCAL IMPACT:
There is no Net County Cost associated with the recommended actions. Approval of the second recommended action will increase the FY 2018-19 appropriations and estimated revenues for the County Library Book Fund Org 7521 in the amount of $10,000 to support the Summer Challenge programs. Remaining funds that are not expended by June 30, 2019 will roll over into subsequent budget requests.
