SUBJECT: Reject Bids for Contract No. 18-11-C, Fresno County Wildlife Conservation Board - Shaver Lake Marina ADA Improvements and Observation Deck Construction
RECOMMENDED ACTION(S):
TITLE
Reject all bids for Contract No. 18-11-C, Fresno County Wildlife Conservation Board - Shaver Lake Marina ADA Improvements and Observation Deck Construction.
REPORT
Approval of the recommended action would reject all bids received for the proposed Fresno County Wildlife Conservation Board Shaver Lake Marina ADA Improvements and Observation Deck Construction Project (Project). The two bids received exceeded the maximum available funding, and the construction of the improvements will not be able to proceed. Due to the good faith effort by the Department of Public Works and Planning to complete the grant terms, the Wildlife Conservation Board will not attempt to recover any portion of the expended grant funds. This item pertains to a location in District 5.
ALTERNATIVE ACTION(S):
There is no viable alternative action, as the grant does not have sufficient funds to construct the improvements, based on the lowest responsive bid.
FISCAL IMPACT:
There is no Net County Cost associated with the recommended action. All incurred costs associated with the Project were funded through a Wildlife Conservation Board Grant of up to $409,000; $239,775 was expended in 2018, leaving a balance of $169,225 available for the Project. Prior departmental costs associated with the Project were covered with grant funding that was budgeted in the Department's Parks and Grounds Org 7910 in FY 2018-19.
DISCUSSION:
