SUBJECT: Amendment I to Agreement with the City of Kerman (CDBG
17371)

RECOMMENDED ACTION(S):
TITLE
Approve and authorize Chairman to execute Amendment I to Agreement No. 18-561 with the City of Kerman for the Kerman Stanislaus Avenue Park Development, Community Development Block Grant Project No. 17371, effective upon execution, with no change in the term and increasing the maximum by $142,404 to $592,404.
REPORT
Approval of the recommended action will provide an additional $146,752 in Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds to the Kerman Stanislaus Avenue Park Development Project (Project), which will increase the Project's CDBG funds from $419,292 to $566,044. The additional funds are needed due to increased construction costs related to the added park amenities proposed by the City of Kerman (City). The additional CDBG funds are available from the City's CDBG allocation included in the County's 2019-20 Action Plan, and approved by your Board on June 4, 2019. The Project cost is now estimated at $592,404. The City reduced its local financial contribution to complete the Project from $30,708 to $26,360. This item pertains to a location in District 4.

ALTERNATIVE ACTION(S):

If this amendment is not approved, the City may not have sufficient funds to complete the entire project.

FISCAL IMPACT:

There is no Net County Cost associated with the recommended action. The total estimated Project cost is now $592,404. The proposed amendment will increase CDBG funding for the Project from the City's CDBG allocation by $146,752, from $419,292, to $566,044. The additional CDBG funds are included in the Department of Public Works and Planning - Community Development Block Grant Org 7205 FY 2019-20 Adopted Budget.
