SUBJECT: First Amendment to Agreement with VMS Family Counseling Services, Professional Corporation

RECOMMENDED ACTION(S):
TITLE
Approve and authorize the Chairman to execute First Amendment to Agreement No. 18-289 with VMS Family Counseling Services, Professional Corporation, effective upon execution, with no change to the term of July 2, 2015 through June 30, 2020, increasing the agreement maximum by $50,000 to a total of $270,000.
REPORT
There is no increase in Net County Cost associated with the recommended action. Approval of the recommended action will increase the maximum compensation allowed under the County's agreement with VMS Family Counseling Services, Professional Corporation (VMS), to provide psychological services to the Sheriff's Office personnel, thereby allowing the department personnel and their families to continue to have access to psychological services. The demand for counseling services has increased due to past and current incidents that have affected the Sheriff's Office. This item is countywide.

ALTERNATIVE ACTION(S):

If the recommended action is not approved, these additional professional services will not be provided to Sheriff's Office personnel and their families.

FISCAL IMPACT:

There is no increase in Net County Cost associated with the recommended action. The recommended first amendment will increase the maximum compensation by $50,000, to a total of $270,000, to cover the remaining contract period. Sufficient appropriations and estimated revenues for the additional costs are included in the Sheriff-Coroner-Public Administrator's FY 2019-20 Org 3111 Adopted Budget. There are currently no pending invoices.
