RECOMMENDED ACTION(S):
TITLE
Approve and authorize the Chairman to execute an Agreement with the Fresno County Fire Protection District for the Station 93 Water Tender Refurbish, Community Development Block Grant Project No. 19731, effective upon execution through February 1, 2021 ($250,000).
REPORT
Approval of the recommended action will provide Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funding for the Station 93 Water Tender Refurbish (Project), included in the County's 2019-20 Action Plan approved by your Board on June 4, 2019. The Project consists of refurbishing an existing water tender located at Fire Station 93 in Huron. The Project will benefit the residents of southwest Fresno County, primarily the unincorporated areas surrounding the Cities of Coalinga and Huron. The County will provide $240,000 in CDBG funds for the Project, and the Fresno County Fire Protection District (District) will provide a local financial contribution of $10,000 in excess of the CDBG funds necessary to complete the Project by February 1, 2021. This item pertains to a location in District 4.

ALTERNATIVE ACTION(S):

Your Board may reject the recommended action and direct the Department of Public Works and Planning staff to use the funds for a FY 2020-21 project. There are no other projects remaining on the FY 2019-20 Back-Up list for consideration. However, deletion may impact the County's ability to meet its CDBG expenditure timelines set by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).

FISCAL IMPACT:

There is no increase in Net County Cost associated with the recommended action. The Project's total estimated cost is $250,000, which includes specification development and equipment procurement. CDBG funds in the amount of $240,000 are included in the Department's - CD...
