SUBJECT: Amendment II to Agreement with the City of Kerman (CDBG 17371)

RECOMMENDED ACTION(S):
TITLE
Approve and authorize Chairman to execute Amendment II to Agreement No. 18-561 with the City of Kerman for the Kerman Stanislaus Avenue Park Development, Community Development Block Grant Project No. 17371, effective upon execution with no change in the term to February 26, 2021 and increasing the maximum by $131,963 to a total of $698,007.
REPORT
Approval of the recommended action will provide an additional $131,963 in Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds to the Kerman Stanislaus Avenue Park Development Project (Project), increasing the CDBG funds from $566,044 to $698,007. The additional funds are needed due to increased construction costs related to additional park amenities and are available from the City's CDBG allocation included in the County's 2020-21 Action Plan, approved by your Board on April 28, 2020. The Project is now estimated at $1,219,683. The City increased its local financial contribution from $26,360 to $521,676 to complete the Project. This item pertains to a location in District 1.

ALTERNATIVE ACTION(S):

Your Board may choose to not approve the recommended amendment, which may result in the City not having sufficient funds to complete the Project.

FISCAL IMPACT:

There is no Net County Cost associated with the recommended action. The total estimated Project cost will increase from $627,279 to $1,219,683. The proposed amendment will increase CDBG funding by $131,963; from $566,044 to $698,007. The additional CDBG funds are included in the Department of Public Works and Planning - Community Development Block Grant Org 7205 FY 2020-21 Proposed Budget and represents the City's 2020-21 CDBG allocation.
