SUBJECT: Amendment I to Agreement with the City of Fowler (CDBG 19231)

RECOMMENDED ACTION(S):
TITLE
Approve and authorize Chairman to execute Amendment I to Agreement No. 20-042 with the City of Fowler for the Fowler Panzak Park ADA Restroom, Community Development Block Grant Project No. 19231, effective upon execution with no change in the term to March 12, 2021 and increasing the maximum by $47,614 to a total of $164,058.
REPORT
Approval of the recommended action will provide an additional $47,614 in Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds to the Fowler Panzak Park ADA Restroom (Project), increasing the CDBG funds from $116,444 to $164,058. The additional funds are requested to reduce the local financial contribution and are available from the City's CDBG allocation included in the County's 2020-21 Action Plan, approved by your Board on April 28, 2020. Approval of the recommended action will reduce the City's local financial contribution from $187,796 to $140,182. This item pertains to a location in District 4.

ALTERNATIVE ACTION(S):

Your Board may choose to not approve the recommended amendment, which may result in the City not having sufficient funds to complete the Project.

FISCAL IMPACT:

There is no Net County Cost associated with the recommended action. The proposed amendment will increase CDBG funding by $47,614, from $116,444 to $164,058. The additional CDBG funds are included in the Department of Public Works and Planning - Community Development Block Grant Org 7205 FY 2020-21 Proposed Budget, and represent the City's 2020-21 CDBG allocation. CDBG funds are provided on a reimbursement basis. The recommended action reduces the City's local financial contribution in excess of the CDBG funds, which may be necessary to complete the Project, from $187,796 to $140,182.
