SUBJECT: Resolution to Adopt the Final Budget for the Fiscal Year 2022-23
RECOMMENDED ACTION(S):
TITLE
It is recommended that your Board adopt the Fiscal Year 2022-23 Final Budget Resolution which includes all adjustments to appropriations, revenues, and obligated fund balances made to the recommended budget during the budget hearing (total budget requirements, excluding special districts: $4,455,289,784).
REPORT
ALTERNATIVE ACTION(S):
Do not adopt the budget at this time and continue with the budget hearing.
Government Code Section 29081 allows the budget hearing to be continued from day to day until concluded, but not to exceed a total of 14 calendar days. Therefore, the budget must be adopted on or before Sunday, September 25, 2022.
FISCAL IMPACT:
The recommended action will establish the Fiscal Year 2022-23 adopted appropriations and estimated revenues for the various County departments.
DISCUSSION:
The total budget requirements for the County of Fresno for Fiscal Year 2022-23 amount to $4,455,289,784. This amount excludes the budgets for the Special Districts which are adopted separately. The Recommended Action will adopt the Fiscal Year 2022-23 Final Budget Resolution in compliance with California Government Code Sections 29089 and 29090.
Notice of the availability to members of the public of the Fiscal Year 2022-23 recommended budget documents was published on August 31, 2022, in the Business Journal, in compliance with California Government Code Section 29080.
