SUBJECT: Approve Agreement with Fakouri Electrical Engineering, Inc.

RECOMMENDED ACTION:
TITLE
Approve and authorize Chairman to execute an Agreement with Fakouri Electrical Engineering, Inc. to provide maintenance and repair services for County uninterruptible power supply systems, effective upon execution, not to exceed five consecutive years, which includes a three-year base contract and two optional one-year extensions, total not to exceed $440,000.

REPORT
Approval of the recommended action will allow the Internal Services Department (ISD), Facilities Services Division, to contract for repair and maintenance services for County uninterruptible power supply (UPS) systems. The recommended action will provide UPS system maintenance and repair services for the UPS systems providing power back up for critical systems supporting operations within County facilities.

ALTERNATIVE ACTION(S):

Should your Board not approve the recommended actions, the County will remain without UPS maintenance and repair services until a new agreement can be executed.

FISCAL IMPACT:

There is no increase in Net County Cost associated with the recommended action. Appropriations for the annual cost for routine inspections, maintenance of the UPS systems and batteries, and emergency services and repairs are included in the FY 2016-17 Internal Services Department - Facility Services Division Org 8935 Adopted Budget. Future costs associated with this agreement will be requested in future years.

DISCUSSION:

On June 8, 2016, Request for Quotation (RFQ) No 285-5482 was issued to solicit pricing from qualified vendors to provide routine inspections and maintenance of the UPS systems and batteries, and emergency services and repairs.
