SUBJECT: Resolution accepting a monetary donation for the Fresno County Public Library for a public purpose
RECOMMENDED ACTION(S):
TITLE
Adopt Resolution accepting and expressing gratitude for the monetary donation of $1,500 to the Fresno County Public Library to support Talking Book Library for the Blind.
REPORT
There is no Net County Cost associated with the recommended action. The recommended action is required to satisfy the reporting requirements under Chapter 762.12 of the CAO Management Directives for donations greater than $500 in value. Approval of the recommended action will allow the Fresno County Public Library to accept a $1,500 donation from a private donor to support the Talking Book Library for the Blind program.
ALTERNATIVE ACTION(S):
Your Board may choose to not accept the donation.
FISCAL IMPACT:
There is no Net County Cost associated with the recommended action. The donation ($1,500) will be accepted to support the Talking Book Library for the Blind program in future fiscal years using the available Fund Balance in Special Revenue Fund Org 7521 to purchase supplies. The donation of $1,500 will increase the Fund Balance under restricted donations in County Library Book Fund Org 7521.
DISCUSSION:
In November 2016, the Fresno County Public Library received a donation check in the amount of $1,500 from a private donor. The donation will be used to purchase supplies to support the Talking Book Library for the Blind program. The Talking Book Library for the Blind program provides services for persons with temporary or permanent low vision, blindness, or a physical disability.
