SUBJECT: Letter of Support to Congressman David G. Valadao for HR 23, the GROW Act
RECOMMENDED ACTION(S):
Authorize the Board of Supervisors to sign a letter of support to Congressman David G. Valadao for HR 23, the Gaining Responsibility on Water (GROW) Act of 2017.
ALTERNATIVE ACTION(S):
The Board can decide against sending the letter of support to Congressman Valadao.
DISCUSSION:
Congressman Valadao is working to ensure reliable water deliveries. For these reasons, Congressman Valadao introduced HR 23, which will obligate the federal government to complete feasibility studies for multiple water storage projects in California and will increase the scope of investigation for dam safety throughout the western United States, including expansion.
