DISCUSSION:

On April 21, 2015 your Board executed the first LE Specialized Units program grant effective from January 1, 2015 through December 31, 2015.  The funding cycle is for three years, beginning on January 1, 2015 and ending December 31, 2017.  Each grant period is 12 months and a noncompetitive reapplication for continuation of funding must be submitted for the second and third years of the program.  On April 5, 2016 your Board executed the second LE Specialized Units program effective from January 1, 2016 through December 31, 2016.

On December 6, 2016 your Board executed the third LE Specialized Units program grant effective from January 1, 2017 through December 31, 2017.  Cal OES approved Subaward No. LE 16 03 0100 for calendar year 2017 on January 26, 2017 with a special condition to replace the July 2015 revision of the signed Certification of Assurance of Compliance, VAWA fund and submit a current (December 2016 revision) Certification of Assurance of Compliance, VAWA fund.  The December 2016 revision updates the special conditions to include the changes in the OMB Uniform Guidance CFR2, Part 200 to arrange for an audit by an independent CPA firm annually and to include the grant in the annual single audit under the Schedule of Federal Assistance.  All other terms of the grant award remain in place.
