SUBJECT: Moving Expenses for County Counsel
RECOMMENDED ACTION(S):
TITLE
Approve the payment of moving expenses for Daniel C. Cederborg, County Counsel ($4,078).
REPORT
Approval of the recommended action will allow for payment of moving expenses for County Counsel Daniel C. Cederborg’s relocation from Woodland, California to Fresno County.
ALTERNATIVE ACTION(S):
The Board could choose not to approve reimbursement of moving expenses.
FISCAL IMPACT:
Reimbursement for moving expenses will be at the lower of the two responsive bids, not to exceed $10,000 per Management Directive 590. Actual moving expenses based on the lower of two bids received are $4,078. Sufficient appropriations are included in the FY 2016-17 Adopted Budget Org 0710.
DISCUSSION:
On April 25, 2014, Daniel C. Cederborg accepted the position of County Counsel. At that time, Mr. Cederborg requested an allowance of up to four years to submit reimbursement of moving expenses from Woodland, California as his family anticipated moving to Fresno during this time period. The Board approved this request.
Mr. Cederborg has indicated that the move will be completed by June 30, 2017. Payment of moving expenses for this level of position is authorized per Management Directive 590, and is necessary in order to recruit the most qualified candidate.
