SUBJECT: Staffing Support for the Economic Development Action Team
RECOMMENDED ACTION(S):
TITLE
Discuss and provide direction regarding potential staffing needs to support the County of Fresno Economic Development Action Team.
REPORT
The Economic Development Action Team (EDAT) may require staffing assistance to achieve the goals as outlined in the Economic Development Element of the General Plan. Direction from your Board is requested to determine the level of staffing, if any, necessary to support the EDAT.
ALTERNATIVE ACTION(S):
There is no viable alternative action, as direction on staffing is necessary to proceed with the EDAT’s goals.
FISCAL IMPACT:
The impact on Net County Cost depends on the Board’s direction regarding staffing support for the EDAT.
DISCUSSION:
On June 6, 2017, the Board approved the formation of a County of Fresno EDAT as a one-year pilot. As discussed at that time, the purpose of the EDAT is to implement the three goals as outlined in the Economic Development Element of the General Plan. In order to proceed with this directive, staffing support may be necessary. It is requested your Board provide direction regarding the level of staffing, if any, necessary to support the EDAT’s goals.
