TO: Board of Supervisors
SUBMITTED BY: Paul Nerland, Director of Human Resources
SUBJECT: Salary Resolution Amendment
RECOMMENDED ACTION(S):
TITLE
Approve amendment to the Salary Resolution to increase a pay provision for a Chief Deputy District Attorney or Assistant District Attorney assigned to the Officer Involved Shooting/In-Custody Death Team, effective September 11, 2017, as reflected in Appendix B.
REPORT
Approval of the recommended action would authorize a pay provision increasing the compensation rate from $500 to $1,000 for a Chief Deputy District Attorney or Assistant District Attorney assigned for a one-week period to the Officer Involved Shooting/In-Custody Death (OIS/ICD) Team, regardless of the number of calls/incidents received during that period. The increase ($10,594) includes $4,880 in Net County Cost (NCC), which will be absorbed in the District Attorney-Public Administrator's FY 2017-18 Recommended Budget.
ALTERNATIVE ACTION(S):
If the Board does not approve the recommended action, the Salary Resolution would remain unchanged.
FISCAL IMPACT:
The total estimated cost for FY 2017-18 is approximately $10,594; $4,880 in NCC, which includes related retirement costs. Only one assigned member: a Deputy District Attorney IV, Senior Deputy District Attorney, Chief Deputy District Attorney or Assistant District Attorney, may receive the $1,000 pay provision each week. Sufficient appropriations and estimated revenues are included in the District Attorney-Public Guardian's, Org 2860 FY 2017-18 Recommended Budget.
DISCUSSION:
Approval of the recommended action would provide an additional $500 in compensation to a Chief Deputy District Attorney or Assistant District Attorney assigned to the OIS/ICD Team, bringing the total compensation rate to $1,000 per week.
