SUBJECT: Resolution to Adopt the Final Budget for the Fiscal Year 2017-18
RECOMMENDED ACTION(S):
TITLE
It is recommended that your Board adopt the Fiscal Year 2017-18 Final Budget Resolution which includes all adjustments to appropriations, revenues, and obligated fund balances made to the recommended budget during the budget hearing.
REPORT
ALTERNATIVE ACTION(S):
Do not adopt the budget at this time and continue with the budget hearing.
Government Code Section 29081 allows the budget hearing to be continued from day to day until concluded, but not to exceed a total of 14 calendar days. Therefore, the budget must be adopted on or before Sunday, October 1, 2017.
FISCAL IMPACT:
The recommended action will establish the Fiscal Year 2017-18 adopted appropriations and estimated revenues for the various County departments.
DISCUSSION:
The total budget requirements for the County of Fresno for Fiscal Year 2017-18 amount to $3,050,782,824. This amount excludes the budgets for the Special Districts which are adopted separately. The detail of this amount by object level of expenditure is reflected in this resolution. The means of financing the budget requirements are also stated. This resolution is in compliance with California Government Code Sections 29089 and 29090.
