SUBJECT: Retroactive Grant Application/Agreement with the State of California, Governor's
Office of Emergency Services, for Probation Specialized Supervision

RECOMMENDED ACTION(S):
TITLE
1. Retroactively authorize the Interim Chief Probation Officer's previous submittal of a grant
application in the amount of $133,333 to the State of California, Governor's Office of Emergency Services for continuation of Fresno County's Probation Specialized Supervision Program;
2. Approve and authorize the Chairman to execute a retroactive Grant Award Face Sheet and the Certification of Assurance of Compliance for the period of October 1, 2017 through September 30, 2018 ($133,333);
3. Approve and authorize the Chairman to execute the Subrecipient Grants Management Assessment form for the Probation Specialized Supervision Program; and
4. Adopt resolution authorizing the Chairman to submit the retroactive grant application and to execute any extensions or amendments thereof as required by the California Governor's Office of Emergency Services, subject to approval by County Counsel and the Auditor-Controller/Treasurer-Tax Collector.
REPORT
There is no additional Net County Cost associated with the recommended actions. The Probation Department was initially awarded a competitive 3-year California Governor's Office of Emergency Services (Cal OES) grant to provide specialized supervision of high-risk domestic violence offenders and to provide support and assistance to their victims. Cal OES has now approved a fifth year of non-competitive funding for this grant. To meet filing deadlines for the fifth year of funding, the grant application was submitted contingent upon your Board's approval.
