SUBJECT: Amendment V to Revenue Agreement with the California Department of Public Health
RECOMMENDED ACTION(S):
TITLE
1. Approve and authorize the Chairman to execute Amendment V to revenue Agreement No. 14-602 with the California Department of Public Health, for Federal and State Public Health Emergency Preparedness and Hospital Preparedness Program funds allowing for budget revisions, effective upon execution, with no change in the compensation amount or term of July 1, 2014 through June 30, 2018 ($4,657,699).
2. Adopt Budget Resolution increasing FY 2017-18 appropriations and estimated revenues for Local Public Health Preparedness Org 1159 in the amount of $16,000, to fund additional program equipment (4/5 vote).
3. Adopt Budget Resolution increasing FY 2017-18 appropriations and estimated revenues for Department of Public Health Org 5620 in the amount of $16,000 (4/5 vote).
REPORT
Approval of the recommended amendment revises certain budget categories and line items without changing the grant amount, allowing the utilization of funds in support of public health and hospital preparedness emergency response to bioterrorism, outbreaks of infectious disease and other public health threats and emergencies prior to the agreement's termination on June 30, 2018. The first recommended action will allow the County to expend remaining FY 2016-17 extension funds during FY 2017-18. The second and third recommended actions will increase FY 2017-18 appropriations and revenues to purchase an ultra-low temperature freezer to store bio-terrorism agents, lab samples, and reagents that require a minimum storage temperature of -70?F, with no Net County Cost. This item is countywide.
