SUBJECT: Amendment II to Agreement with the California Department of Public Health
RECOMMENDED ACTION(S):
TITLE
Approve and authorize the Chairman to execute Amendment II to Agreement No. 15-524 with the California Department of Public Health, including two required certifications, for Sexually Transmitted Disease Prevention programs, with no change in term to June 30, 2019 and decreasing the maximum by $7,270 to a total of $419,510 effective July 1, 2018.
REPORT
Approval of the recommended action will decrease funding for sexually transmitted disease (STD) activities by 1.7% ($7,270) and allow the Chairman to execute the amendment including the two required certifications. The California Department of Public Health (CDPH) STD Control Branch reduced funding to the Chlamydia and Gonorrhea Screening Project, a program that includes screening, testing, and treatment services to eligible females entering the Juvenile Justice Campus (JJC). The reduction is in line with the volume of screenings performed at the JJC. This item is countywide.
ALTERNATIVE ACTION(S):
There are no viable alternative actions.
FISCAL IMPACT:
There is no increase in Net County Cost associated with the recommended action. The maximum amount of the revenue agreement will decrease by $7,270, from $426,780 to $419,510. There will be no change to the Department of Public Health's Org 5620 FY 2017-18 Adopted Budget as the reduction only affects year four (FY 2018-19) decreasing from $94,695 to $87,425. The revenue agreement limits indirect cost recovery to 25% of salaries and benefits as compared to the Department's indirect rate of 26.5%; the difference ($1,032) will be funded with Health Realignment.
