RECOMMENDED ACTION(S):
TITLE
Approve Amendments to the Salary Resolution to:

1. Implement new information technology classifications, and place affected incumbents into these classifications, effective July 2, 2018, as reflected on Appendix "A".

2. Add one (1) Information Technology Manager and two (2) Systems and Procedures Analysts to the Internal Services - Information Technology Services Org 8905, effective July 2, 2018, as reflected on Appendix "A".

3. Delete one (1) Senior Information Technology Analyst and decrease the allocation of three (3) Senior Network Systems Engineer to the Internal Services - Information Technology Services Org 8905, effective July 2, 2018, as reflected on Appendix "A".
REPORT
Approval of the first recommended action would authorize the Department of Human Resources (HR) to implement updated information technology (IT) job specifications and classifications consistent with functions currently performed by incumbents in County departments, based on findings of a classification study conducted by HR in consultation with the Department of Internal Services, the Sheriff's Office and the Library. Approval of the second and third recommended actions would allow the Internal Services - Information Technology Department to continue to provide timely, effective information technology services to County departments and staff.

ALTERNATIVE ACTION(S):

If your Board were not to approve the recommended actions, current IT job specifications and classifications would remain unchanged and the Internal Services - Information Technology Department may not be able to provide the most effective and timely services to County departments and staff.
