SUBJECT: Use of Board of Supervisors District 3 Appropriations for Community Outreach Event
RECOMMENDED ACTION(S):
Approve and authorize the use of Board of Supervisor District 3 funds in the amount of $1000 for the Community Outreach event, Senior Spring Fling on May 3, 2019.
Approval of the recommended action by the Board of Supervisors is to allow Supervisor District 3 to utilize funds from their district budget, for use in the sponsorship of the community outreach event Senior Spring Fling on May 3, 2019 per Administrative Policy Number 75 and the determination of proper use of the expenditure by County Counsel.
ALTERNATIVE ACTION(S):
The Board could chose not to approve the recommended action.
FISCAL IMPACT:
There is no increase in Net County Cost associated with the recommended action. Sufficient appropriations are included in the FY 2017-18 Adopted Budget under the Board of Supervisors Org 01100103, Account 7564 other expense.
DISCUSSION:
On April 25, 2017, your Board approved the use of Board of Supervisor District 3 funds in the amount of $1,000 for the Community Outreach event, Senior Spring Fling held on May 12, 2017. Your Board also directed the County Administrative Officer to develop an Administrative Policy setting out guidelines for use of County funds for Community Outreach.
On August 8, 2017, your Board approved Administrative Policy Number 75, Community Outreach Services. Per Administrative Policy Number 75, this item was submitted to County Counsel for review and approval. County Counsel has determined that the foregoing is a legal expenditure of public funds.
The Senior Spring Fling is an annual event at the Sal Mosqueda Center, with informational vendor booths promoting senior services from County of Fresno Departments, Non-Profit Organizations and Community Outreach Representatives from Countywide Businesses.
