SUBJECT: Agreement with Corporation for Supportive Housing

RECOMMENDED ACTION(S):
TITLE
Approve and authorize the Chairman to execute an Agreement with Corporation for Supportive Housing, for Technical Assistance consulting services related to the California Department of Housing and Community Development's No Place Like Home Program and facilitation of a Supportive Housing Institute, for a three-year term effective upon execution through October 21, 2022 ($400,000).
REPORT
Approval of the recommended action will allow the Corporation for Supportive Housing (CSH) to provide the Department of Behavioral Health with technical assistance (TA) consulting services related to the No Place Like Home (NPLH) Program and to facilitate/operate a Supportive Housing Institute (SHI) in the County. The recommended action includes NPLH funding for the associated TA services and Mental Health Services Act - Community Services and Supports - System Development (MHSA - CSS) funds associated with the SHI, with no increase in Net County Cost. This item is countywide.

ALTERNATIVE ACTION(S):

Non-approval of the recommended action may jeopardize future supportive housing development opportunities. During Department community meetings, feedback from stakeholders has clearly demonstrated a need for increased housing options and capacity for individuals living with a Serious Mental Illness (SMI) that are connected to departmental services.

FISCAL IMPACT:

There is no increase in Net County Cost associated with the recommended action. The maximum compensation for the recommended agreement is $400,000, which includes the NPLH TA Program ($150,000) and facilitation of a SHI ($250,000).
