SUBJECT: Retroactive Assignment Consultant Service Agreements
RECOMMENDED ACTION(S):
TITLE
1. Retroactively approve and authorize the Chairman to execute assignment of Agreement No. 14-668-1 from Drake Haglan & Associates, Inc to Dewberry | Drake Haglan for consultant services related to the Little Dry Creek Bridge Replacement Project, effective September 27, 2019.
2. Retroactively approve and authorize the Chairman to execute assignment of Agreement No. 17-477-1 from Drake Haglan & Associates, Inc. to Dewberry | Drake Haglan for on-call consultant services, effective September 27, 2019.
REPORT
Approval of the recommended actions will assign two agreements to the consulting firm Dewberry which has acquired a consulting firm Drake Haglan currently under contract with the County. This item is countywide.
ALTERNATIVE ACTION(S):
Your Board can choose to not approve the recommended actions; however, the Department would be required to conduct a Request for Proposals to reassign projects currently assigned to the Consultant, thus delaying progress on multiple projects.
FISCAL IMPACT:
There is no Net County Cost associated with the recommended actions. All other terms of each agreement will remain unchanged.
DISCUSSION:
Drake Haglan & Associates, Inc. (Drake Haglan) has provided engineering consulting services to the County since 2014. Additionally, the County has contracted with Drake Haglan to provide engineering design services for the Little Dry Creek Bridge replacement project through a project specific agreement approved on October 28, 2014, Agreement No. 14-668. On September 27, 2019, Drake Haglan was purchased by Dewberry Engineers Inc. and requested that the active agreements be assigned to the new company.
