SUBJECT: Board Appointment to Tranquillity Public Utility District's Board of Directors
RECOMMENDED ACTION(S):
TITLE
Consider candidate and appoint director to the Tranquillity Public Utility District Board of Directors. Keith Eubanks term expiring in 2023.
REPORT
Approval of the recommended action will allow the Fresno County Board of Supervisors to appoint one director to the Tranquillity Public Utility District ("Tranquillity PUD") Board. The Tranquillity PUD is governed by the California Public Utility Code ("PUC"). The Tranquillity PUD forwarded Keith Eubanks' application to the Clerk of the Board of Supervisors on January 13, 2020. The Tranquillity PUD three (3) member board of directors are elected to serve a staggered four-year term. This item pertains to District 1.
ALTERNATIVE ACTION(S):
If the recommended action is not approved, the position will remain vacant on the Tranquillity PUD Board.
FISCAL IMPACT:
There is no increase in Net County Cost associated with this action.
DISCUSSION:
In accordance with California Election Code Section 10515 (b), the Board of Supervisors, as the supervising authority, shall make the appointment of the candidate.
The Tranquillity PUD submitted an application from Keith Eubanks for their board of directors to the Clerk of the Board of Supervisors on January 13, 2020. Keith Eubanks has served as a Director since April 2012. Keith Eubanks' term expired in December 2019. He did not file a declaration of candidacy for the November 5, 2019 Uniform District Election ("UDEL"). The applicant is qualified to serve on the Tranquillity PUD Board pursuant to PUC Section 15952.
