SUBJECT: Addenda to Memoranda of Understanding for Representation Units 14 and 38
RECOMMENDED ACTION(S):
TITLE
1. Approve the Addendum of Memorandum of Understanding, which extends the term of the Memorandum of Understanding for Representation Unit 14 - Supervisory Peace Officers, represented by the Fresno Sheriff’s Sergeants Association, through November 1, 2020.
2. Approve the Addendum of Memorandum of Understanding, which extends the term of the Memorandum of Understanding for Representation Unit 38 - Sheriff’s Captains, represented by the Fresno County Sheriff’s Captain Association, through November 1, 2020.
REPORT
There is no increase in Net County Cost associated with the recommended actions. Approval of the recommended actions would extend the current Memoranda of Understanding (MOUs), set to expire on July 12, 2020, for Representation Units 14 and 38, through November 1, 2020. There are no other changes in the terms and conditions of the original MOUs approved by the Board on March 7, 2017 and March 28, 2017 and amended on December 10, 2019. This item is countywide.
ALTERNATIVE ACTION(S):
If your Board were not to approve the recommended action, the terms and conditions of the current MOUs would not extend through November 1, 2020, and successor MOU negotiations would continue.
FISCAL IMPACT:
There is no increase in Net County Cost associated with the recommended actions.
DISCUSSION:
Your Board’s representatives have come to a tentative agreement with Representation Units 14 and 38, to extend their current MOUs, with no changes in terms and conditions, through November 1, 2020.
