SUBJECT: Resolution to accept a monetary donation from the Al & Alma Radka Family Trust
RECOMMENDED ACTION(S):
TITLE
Adopt Resolution accepting and expressing gratitude for a monetary donation of $20,000 to the Fresno County Public Library from the Al & Alma Radka Family Trust.
REPORT
There is not Net County Cost associated with the recommended action, which will allow the Fresno County Public Library to accept the donation from the Al & Alma Radka Family Trust, in the amount of $20,000. Approval of the recommended action will allow the Library to support future projects. The donor disclosures listed below are required to satisfy the reporting and approval requirements under Board of Supervisors Administrative Policy Number 30, for donations greater than $7,500 in value. The impact of the donation is countywide.
ALTERNATIVE ACTION(S):
Your Board may choose not to accept the donation, in which case the funds will not be available to support future projects.
FISCAL IMPACT:
There is no Net County Cost associated with the recommended action. The Al & Alma Radka Family Trust donation, in the amount of $20,000, will increase the FY 2020-21 Fund Balance in County Library Book Fund Org 7521. The Library will return to your Board at a later date to recommend designation of funds for specific capital projects.
DISCUSSION:
The Library received the donation check, in the amount of $20,000, in March 2020 from the Al & Alma Radka Family Trust to support the Library. Upon your Board’s approval of the recommended action, the Library will accept the donation of $20,000.
DONOR DISCLOSURES:
To satisfy reporting requirements under Administrative Policy 30 for donations greater than $7,500 in value, the following is provided:
• The Al & Alma Radka Family Trust is not a County contractor or principal in a business, agency or organization providing contracted services within the County.
• The Al & Alma Radka Family Trust is not a contractor who has bid on a County contract in the last 12 months.
• The Fresno County Library has no knowledge that the donor will bid on any County contract within the next twelve months.
• The Al & Alma Radka Family Trust has provided a monetary donation of $20,000, to be deposited into Org 7521 Account 5890 Donations.
