SUBJECT: Revision to Ordinance Code, Title 2 - Administration
RECOMMENDED ACTION(S):
TITLE
1. Ratify the setting of the second hearing to amend the Fresno County Ordinance Code, Title 2 - Administration, Chapter 2.04 - Board of Supervisors, Section 2.04.010 relating to Meetings for November 24,2020 due to the cancellation of the Board’s November 17 meeting; and
2. Conduct this second hearing; waive reading of Ordinance in its entirety, and adopt such Ordinance Code amendment.
REPORT
Approval of the recommended actions will amend Ordinance Code, Section 2.04.010 to delete the 9:00 a.m. start time for Board of Supervisors’ meetings. This item is countywide.
ALTERNATIVE ACTION(S):
Your Board may choose to not approve the recommended actions in which case the start time for the Board of Supervisors’ meetings will remain at 9:00 a.m.
FISCAL IMPACT:
There is no fiscal impact associated with the recommended actions.
DISCUSSION:
The Fresno County Ordinance Code, Title 2, Chapter 2.04, Section 2.04.010 29 is currently written that Board of Supervisors’ meetings commence at 9:00 a.m. Approval of the first recommended action will amend the Ordinance Code to provide your Board the flexibility to commence board meetings at start times based on current needs.
The first hearing for this change was held on November 3, 2020 and set the second hearing for November 17, 2020. However, the November 17 meeting date was cancelled, and the second hearing was moved to November 24, 2020.
The recommended change to the Ordinance Code will be effective 30 days after adoption. Additionally, on November 3, 2020, your Board also approved revisions to Administrative Policy 29 - Board of Supervisors Meetings to align with this change.
