SUBJECT: Agreement with Riverdale Memorial District

RECOMMENDED ACTION(S):
TITLE
Approve and authorize the Chairman to execute an Agreement with the Riverdale Memorial District for the Riverdale Memorial Hall Improvements, Community Development Block Grant Project No. 20591, effective upon execution through October 31, 2022, total not to exceed $250,000.
REPORT
Approval of the recommended action will provide Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funding for the Riverdale Memorial Hall Improvements (Project), included in the County's 2020-21 Action Plan approved by your Board on April 28, 2020. The Project consists of the installation of Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) compliant doors with automatic openers, and the construction of additional permanent paved parking and related improvements adjacent to the Memorial Hall. The Project will provide safe off-street parking and improved access to the building for mobility-impaired visitors. The Project is located at the Riverdale Memorial Hall at 3085 W. Mt. Whitney, in the community of Riverdale. If necessary to complete the Project by October 31, 2022, the Riverdale Memorial District (District) will provide a local financial contribution for project costs in excess of the CDBG funds. This item pertains to a location in District 4.

ALTERNATIVE ACTION(S):

Your Board may reject the recommended actions and direct the Department of Public Works and Planning staff to identify a project from the FY 2020-21 Back-Up list for consideration. However, deletion may impact the County's ability to meet its CDBG expenditure timelines set by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).

FISCAL IMPACT:
