SUBJECT: Salary Resolution Amendment - Principal Accountant

RECOMMENDED ACTION(S):
TITLE
Approve amendment to the Salary Resolution adding one Principal Accountant position to the Department of Public Works and Planning, Org 4365, effective May 16, 2022, as reflected on Appendix E.
REPORT
Approval of the recommended action will allow the Public Works and Planning Department, Org 4365 to add one position at an estimated cost of $24,292 for the remaining fiscal year. This position will add capacity to the Financial Services Division allowing for additional oversight of project and contact management.

ALTERNATIVE ACTION(S):

Should your Board not approve the recommended action, the Department's position allocation would remain unchanged.

FISCAL IMPACT:

There is no increase in Net County Cost associated with the Recommended Action. The estimated cost associated with the recommended action in FY 2021-22 is approximately $24,292. Sufficient appropriations and estimated revenues have been included in FY 2021-22 Department of Public Works and Planning Org 4360 Adopted Budget and will be included in subsequent budget recommendations.

DISCUSSION:

The Department of Public Works and Planning is requesting the addition of one Principal Accountant position to provide the Financial Services Division with additional oversight of project and contract management. The Financial Services Division of the Department of Public Works and Planning is responsible for the fiscal oversight for the Department; developing, monitoring, and reporting financial information for the Department's $260 million operating budget; $65 million in Capital Projects; and utility billing for over 3,000 customers in unincorporated areas of Fresno County.
