SUBJECT: Budget Resolution to increase appropriations for Off Highway License Org 7920
RECOMMENDED ACTION(S):
TITLE
Adopt Budget Resolution increasing FY 2021-22 appropriations for Off Highway License Org 7920 in the amount of $55,000 to fund a Recreation and Wildlife Commission grant application requesting to provide funding for the purchase of off highway vehicles for the Fresno County Sheriff OHV Unit (OHV).
REPORT
The recommended action will increase FY 2021-22 appropriations in the amount of $55,000 to purchase four (4) dual sport motorcycles for the Fresno County Sheriff OHV Unit using the available Fund Balance of Off Highway License Org 7920.
ALTERNATIVE ACTION(S):
If the recommended action is not approved, current appropriations in Off Highway License Org 7920 will not be sufficient for the purchase of these vehicles.
FISCAL IMPACT:
There is no Net County Cost associated with the recommended action. Approval of recommended action will increase the FY 2021-22 appropriations for Off Highway License Org 7920 in the amount of $55,000 utilizing existing fund balance.
DISCUSSION:
The Recreation and Wildlife Commission received and approved an application from the Fresno County Sheriff’s OHV Unit to secure funding for the purchase of four (4) Husqvarna 350 FE Dual Sport Motorcycles to add to their fleet of OHV equipment. The commission unanimously approved this item to be granted through the Off Highway License funds for FY 2021-22. These vehicles will provide Deputies more capability and maneuverability for off road trail riding, as they are lighter in weight and hold greater full capacity in comparison to the OHV Unit’s current equipment.
