SUBJECT: Agreement with Securus Technologies, LLC for a Call Platform and Services for the Juvenile Justice Campus

RECOMMENDED ACTION(S):
TITLE
Approve and authorize the Chairman to execute an Agreement with Securus Technologies, LLC to provide telephone call management and monitoring services to the Juvenile Justice Campus, effective upon execution, not to exceed five consecutive years, which includes a three-year base contract with two optional one-year extensions, total not to exceed $264,000.
REPORT
There is no additional Net County Cost associated with the recommended action, which will allow the Probation Department to contract with Securus Technology, LLC (Securus) for a telephone call management and monitoring system for the residents of the Juvenile Justice Campus (JJC). Securus is the only vendor willing to provide this system to the County. This item pertains to a location in District 4, however the impact is countywide.

ALTERNATIVE ACTION(S):

Should your Board not approve the recommended action, the Probation Department will remain without the ability to monitor or record the phone calls of the residents at the JJC.

FISCAL IMPACT:

There is no increase in Net County Cost associated with the recommended action. The maximum compensation for the recommended agreement is $264,000, for the potential five-year term. Sufficient appropriations are included in the Probation Department Org 34409999 FY 2022-23 Adopted Budget and will be included in subsequent budget requests subject to approval by your Board.
