SUBJECT:                     Salary Resolution Amendment

 

RECOMMENDED ACTION(S):

TITLE

Approve Salary Resolution Amendment adjusting the salary range of the Chief of Field Surveys, effective May 15, 2023, as reflected on Appendix “E”.

REPORT

There is no Net County Cost associated with the recommended action. Approval of the recommended action is consistent with Board direction and will increase the Chief of Field Surveys salary range by approximately 23%. This item is countywide.

 

ALTERNATIVE ACTION(S):

 

If your Board were not to approve the recommended action, the salary range of the impacted classification would remain unchanged.

 

FISCAL IMPACT:

 

There is no Net County Cost associated with the recommended action. The increase in FY 2022-23 costs of approximately $5,397 will be fully covered with Road Funds. There are sufficient appropriations and estimated revenues in the Public Works and Planning FY 2022-23 Adopted Budget for Org 4510. The increase in FY 2023-24 costs of approximately $37,428 will also be fully covered with Road Funds. Sufficient appropriations will be included in subsequent budget requests. 

 

DISCUSSION:

 

The Chief of Field Surveys is a licensed Land Surveyor, manages the Office of the County Surveyor within the Public Works and Planning Department and is responsible for all surveying operations for the County of Fresno.

 

Approval of the recommended action will increase the salary range of the Chief of Field Surveys by approximately 23%, consistent with Board direction and the County’s desire to remain competitive in the local labor market.
