DISCUSSION:

On March 8, 2024, the final text of the Fiscal Year (FY) 2024 'minibus' was presented which included $467.5 billion in FY 2024 discretionary government funding for 6 of the 12 annual spending bills amongst other provisions. This 'minibus' was subsequently passed by the Senate and House chambers before being signed into law as the Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2024 by President Joe Biden on March 9, 2024.

This 'minibus' included the following community project requests for the County:

* Cantua Creek Sidewalk Improvement Project ($2 million)
o Included in the Transportation-Housing and Urban Development (THUD) appropriations bill
o Submitted by Sen. Padilla and Rep. Duarte

* Tranquillity Complete Streets Project ($3 million)
o Included in the THUD appropriations bill
o Submitted by Rep. Duarte

The County of Fresno is appreciative of the Federal Delegates' efforts for America's cities, counties, and states by their continued support and diligent work to secure the critical funding/resources to provide necessary infrastructure improvements for the residents of the County.
