SUBJECT: Conduct first hearing to amend Title 2, Chapter 2.38, Section 2.38.030 to Fresno County Ordinance Code to allow Children and Families Commission presentations of annual audit and report to be placed either on the regular or consent portions of future Board of Supervisors' agendas
RECOMMENDED ACTION(S):
TITLE
1. Conduct first hearing to amend the Fresno County Ordinance Code, Title 2, Chapter 2.38, Section 2.38.030 to allow Children and Families Commission presentations of annual audit and report to be placed either on the regular or consent portions of future Board of Supervisors' agendas; waive first reading of the Ordinance in its entirety; and set second hearing for May 7, 2024;
2. Designate County Counsel to prepare a fair and adequate summary of the proposed Ordinance; and
3. Direct the Clerk of the Board to post and publish the required summary in accordance with Government Code 25124(b)(1).
REPORT
Approval of the recommended actions will authorize the Children and Families Commission presentations of annual audits and reports to be placed on either regular or consent. Currently the Ordinance Code reads so that the annual audits and reports have to be placed on the regular portion of the Board Agendas.
ALTERNATIVE ACTION(S):
Your Board may elect not to approve the recommended actions, in which case, Section 2.38.030 of the Fresno Ordinance Code will remain as currently written.
FISCAL IMPACT:
There is no fiscal impact associated with the recommended actions.

The current version of Fresno County Ordinance Code section 2.38.030(D) requires that the required presentation of the annual audit and report of the Fresno County Children and Families Commission (known as First 5 Fresno County) to the Board of Supervisors be made during a regular agenda item.
