SUBJECT: Security Services Agreement with Val Security, Inc., for Regional Locations

RECOMMENDED ACTION(S):
TITLE
Approve and authorize the Chairman to execute an Agreement with Val Security, Inc., for security services at Department of Social Services' Coalinga, Kerman, Reedley, and Selma buildings effective July 11, 2017 through June 30, 2022, not to exceed five consecutive years, which includes a three-year base contract and two optional one-year extensions, total not to exceed $885,307.
REPORT
There is no additional Net County Cost associated with the recommended action which will create a three year Agreement with an option for two additional years for security services at regional buildings located in Coalinga, Kerman, Reedley, and Selma, occupied by Fresno County Department of Social Services (DSS), Fresno County Department of Behavioral Health (DBH), and Fresno County Department of Public Health (DPH). The Agreement maximum for the first year is $174,652.

ALTERNATIVE ACTION(S):

If your Board does not approve of the recommended action, DSS, DBH, and DPH will not have security coverage at their regional locations.

FISCAL IMPACT:

There is no increase in Net County Cost associated with the recommended action. The maximum cost of the recommended Agreement for the period of July 11, 2017 through June 30, 2022 is $885,307. The cost for the Agreement will be funded through DSS ($838,828), DBH ($39,839), and DPH ($6,640). The Agreement includes a base cost ($843,149) plus a 5% contingency ($42,158) to cover after hour service requests and additional coverage when necessary.
