Title: 1. SUBJECT: Resolution Accepting and Expressing Gratitude for Donation of $10,000 to the Sheriff-Coroner's Office from Valley Crime Stoppers.

RECOMMENDED ACTION(S):
TITLE
1. Adopt Resolution accepting and expressing gratitude for the monetary donation of $10,000 from Valley Crime Stoppers to purchase a canine for the Sheriff-Coroner's Office during FY 2017-18;
2. Adopt Budget Resolution increasing the FY 2017-18 appropriations and estimated revenues for Sheriff-Coroner Org 3111 in the amount of $10,000 (4/5 vote); and
3. Approve and authorize the Clerk to the Board to execute Budget Transfer No. 1 ($3,000) transferring appropriations within the Sheriff-Coroner Org 3111, from Account 7385 (Small Tools & Instruments) to Account 8300 (Equipment) for the purchase of a canine.
REPORT
There is no Net County Cost associated with the recommended actions. The first recommended action is required to satisfy the CAO Management Directives requirements under Chapter 762.12 for donations greater than $500 in value. The approval of the recommended actions will allow the Sheriff-Coroner's Office to accept a donation from Valley Crime Stoppers ($10,000) and allow for the transfer of appropriations ($3,000) to purchase a canine for the Sheriff-Coroner's K-9 Unit during FY 2017-18.

ALTERNATIVE ACTION(S):

Your Board may choose to not accept the donation from Crime Stoppers. If the donation is not accepted, the Sheriff-Coroner will not purchase a canine for law enforcement services.

FISCAL IMPACT:

There is no Net County Cost associated with the recommended actions. Upon approval, the donation will be accepted and the canine will be purchased in FY 2017-18.
