SUBJECT: Amendment to Agreement with Department of Health Care Services for Projects for Assistance in Transition from Homelessness Grant

RECOMMENDED ACTION(S):
TITLE
Approve and authorize the Chairman to execute an Amendment to Agreement No. 17-378 with the California Department of Health Care Services for the Federal Stewart B. McKinney Homeless Block Grant, through the McKinney Projects for Assistance in Transition from Homelessness Grant, effective upon execution with no change in the term to June 30, 2018 and increasing the maximum by $1,333 to a total of $421,572.
REPORT
The California Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) released an increase to FY 2017-18 Projects for Assistance in Transition from Homelessness (PATH) Grant allocations on September 26, 2017 (PATH Letter No.: 17-01), with an acceptance due by October 12, 2017. To meet the deadline, the Initial Allocations worksheet was signed by the Department of Behavioral Health Director and submitted to DHCS as a placeholder, pending your Board's approval.

Approval of the recommended action will allow the County to accept the grant increase of $1,000 (from $315,179 to $316,179) for services to adults with mental health conditions who are homeless or at-risk of homelessness. The increase requires a 33% County match ($333) increasing the County match from $105,060 to $105,393, which will be funded with Mental Health Services Act (MHSA) funds. The funds will be used for County administration costs, with no increase in Net County Cost.

ALTERNATIVE ACTION(S):

Should your Board not approve the recommended action, the Department would forfeit the additional grant funding.

FISCAL IMPACT:
