SUBJECT: Budget Resolutions for County Service Area 34 (Millerton New Town) and County Service Area 34 Zone B (Ventana Hills)

RECOMMENDED ACTION(S):
TITLE
1. Adopt Budget Resolution increasing FY 2017-18 appropriations for County Service Area 34 Org 9174 in the amount of $85,000 using available fund balance, for operational costs related to the Lake Pump Replacement and Repair Project (4/5 vote).

2. Adopt Budget Resolution increasing FY 2017-18 appropriations for County Service Area 34 Zone B, Org 9255 in the amount of $36,950 using available fund balance, for operational costs related to the emergency repair of the underground communications system (4/5 vote).
REPORT
Approval of the first recommended action will increase FY 2017-18 appropriations for County Service Area 34 (CSA 34), Org 9174 in the amount of $85,000 using fund balance, for operational costs related to the Lake Pump Replacement and Repair Project.

Approval of the second recommended action will increase FY 2017-18 appropriations for County Service Area 34 Zone B (CSA 34B), Org 9255 in the amount of $36,950 using available fund balance. The increased appropriations will support the increased operational costs associated with an emergency repair for the underground communications system that serves two potable water wells, one irrigation well, and the emergency fire flow system. This item pertains to locations in District 5.

Staff has not found any viable alternative action.

FISCAL IMPACT:

There is no Net County Cost associated with the recommended actions. All operation, maintenance and administrative costs are paid for by the benefitted properties within CSA 34 from property assessments and interest revenue and within CSA 34B from water service fees, Subdivider reimbursement agreement and interest revenue.
